Snow Removal

During heavy snowfalls, our public works department is committed to clearing the snow from our roads and paths as quickly as possible.

Please note that they must clear nearly 170 km of roads! It is therefore impossible to remove snow from the entire territory at once.

A typical snow removal operation takes between 4 and 6 hours to complete. During heavy, long-lasting storms, that’s how often you can expect to see a snowplow on your street.

Some things you can do to make our snow removers’ job easier:

  • Avoid leaving your bins (garbage, compost or recycling) in the street.
  • When clearing snow from your property, avoid dumping it on the sidewalk or street.
  • Whenever possible, park your car in your driveway during stormy days. Please note that from November 1 to May 1, overnight parking is prohibited on the streets between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Parking on the south side of Principale Street is prohibited at all times.
