Visual Identity

Find out more about the visual identity of the town of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

The logo features a wild turkey in motion. Its ochre wings highlight the three geophysical levels of the territory: the water’s edge with its lakes and rivers, the plateaus and prairies and lastly, the mountains and valleys.

The dark green feathers represent the flowing water of the main river, which ends its course by conveying its strength.

The bird is a symbol of active life and motion, a reminder that the territory encourages discovery and outdoor adventures. The three side by side birds reflect the solidarity that citizens show towards their family, their society and their environment. Finally, the crossing of the dark green and ochre wings represents the meeting of cultures and the social fabric that has been passed down to us.

The motto “De cœur et de nature” (of heart and nature) reflects our residents and the natural environment they have preserved. The heart is both the courage of the pioneers and the love for home of the families who live here and those who are gradually moving in. The vigorous natural environment is what local people strive to preserve, and the quality of the air, water, forests and valleys bear witness to this.

The wave-shaped band represents the Rouge River, which flows through the municipality.

The two gold sections of the shield illustrate the municipality’s two boroughs: Calumet and Pointe-au-Chêne.

The coats of arms of George Grenville symbolize the former British prime minister, chosen by the founders as the municipality’s official name.

The motto means “Fraternity Equality Solidarity”.
