
2025 Elections
Municipal elections will be held across Quebec on November 2. In Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, the election will be held to fill 6 municipal councillor positions, as well as the position of mayor.

Voting
To vote, you must be registered on the electoral list. If your name is not on the list, you can request to be added to the list during the revision periods.
To find out if your name is on the electoral list, you can check:
- Online, on the Elections Québec website;
- By consulting the notice of registration you will receive by mail towards the end of September;
- By contacting the returning officer.
Revision periods for the list of electors, at GSLR Town Hall:
- Thursday, October 16, 1 to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Advance polling:
- Sunday, October 26, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
General election:
- Sunday, November 2, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Work at the elections
The municipality is looking for election workers. Since you don’t have to be 18 to work during municipal elections, young people are invited to participate in the electoral process by working, for example, on polling days. The following positions are available:
- Scrutineer
- Poll clerk
- Information and order clerk
To work during advance voting, you must be available on October 27, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on November 2, from 6 p.m., for the vote count.
To work on Election Day, you must be available on November 2, from 9 a.m. until the end of the vote count, which begins at 8 p.m.
Job description
The deputy returning officer directs the activities of the polling station. He or she addresses the electors, hands them their ballot papers and counts the votes.
The poll clerk indicates which electors have voted on the electoral list. He or she assists the deputy returning officer and counts the votes.
The verification clerk greets voters and verifies their identity.
The PRIMO and PRIMO assistant supervise activities in the polling place. In particular, they welcome voters and direct them to their polling stations.

Nominate yourself for election

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the municipal council can obtain the necessary documents at Town Hall or on the municipal website.The completed declaration of candidacy must be filed with the returning officer between September 19 and Friday, October 3 at 4:30 p.m. Appointments are preferred for filing.
